A Historical Framework of Research of Croatian Cultural Identity in the Pannonian Area-Migration and Cultural Integration Processes of Croatian Minority Communities in the Territories of Bačka, Baranja, Banat, Srijem, and Bosanska Posavina

Project leader: dr. sc. Krešimir Bušić

This interdisciplinary and cross-border project was conceived as part of a wider and long-term investigation of Croatian Subetic and ethnic Croatian populations (Bačka and Baranja Bunjevci, Šokac, Catholic Bosniaks, Catholic Raca, Romanian Karashevski and Rekaški Croats, Syrmian Croats and Croats of Bosanska Posavina). The purpose of the project is to expand scientific knowledge about the importance of exploring all the attributes of cultural and national identity, especially in historical processes of the modernization of Croatian society, when even in the territory of neighboring countries, Croatian indigenous ethnic communities in the processes of the constitution, transformation, and standardization form their own Croatian national and cultural identity.
